“Every
minute of every day a woman dies
giving birth. That’s 1,500
women every day, 550,000 women every
year. Almost all those deaths will
be in the world’s 75 poorest
countries, and almost all those
deaths are preventable.
The Hope for Grace Kodindo charity
is tackling this scandal head-on.
In providing direct assistance in
some of the world’s poorest
countries, HFGK is saving lives,
allowing women to experience the
joys of motherhood and giving children
the chance of a |
better future. The achievements
of HFGK are without question and
I am constantly impressed by the
commitment and determination of
all those involved.” |

"I
have been to Africa on a number
of occasions as part of my Parliamentary
work and have seen first hand the
huge health challenges faced by
people especially in poorer areas.
Maternal mortality is especially
tragic. That women should be dying
in the process of giving life, and
that it should be as the result
of lacking items that are inexpensive
and readily available in the developed
world hits hard. I know that the
developing world has many committed,
skilled and enthusiastic health
professionals who are working hard
to help the |
people
who need it most. Seeing Hope For
Grace Kodindo working to provide
these dedicated professionals with
the tools they need is wonderful
and I am more than happy to offer
my support to this excellent charity
and to be a patron. I know that
they will work hard to help make
maternal mortality a thing of the
past". |

“Since
we all met in Ndjamen, Chad, in
November 2005, we have been impressed
by the enthusiasm and determination
of Angela and her Friends of Hope
For Grace Kodindo. A very focused
objective, a great networking capacity,
a passionate communication have
given the very tangible results
that we all have seen. Great job
! and best wishes for the year to
come, the needs are enormous, don’t
give up!
